The Address Check & Validation App by Fetchify is the way. Shopify currently restricts access to the checkout functionality which means that address lookup within the checkout is currently only possible with their free Google Address Autocomplete.
What does the app do for customers?
After a customer completes an order, the app uses our Global Address Auto-Complete to check and validate the shipping address on the order confirmation page.
If a match is found and corrections are recommended to standardise the address, the app will show the customer their current selection and our recommended one.
The customer can choose to accept the change, or not.
