A cautionary note on Shopify’s definition of the United Kingdom as relates to store Shipping Zones and store Markets.

As the UK Channel Islands and Isle of Man are

a) Crown Dependencies,

b) have different tax laws,

c) are not part of what is generally accepted as mainland UK (England, Wales, Northern Ireland & Scotland),

Shopify treats these islands as separate, individual territories both for the purposes of its Shipping Zones configuration, and for its Markets configuration.

If you are a merchant who ships physical, and even digital if you’re capturing a shipping address, products to the UK, you will need to ensure that these islands are added to the appropriate shipping zone, or that you create a new shipping zone for them with the appropriate rates for your products, your shipping providers / couriers, and your preference.

Depending on your setup, you may also need to check your Markets setup.
