A charge for email address validation is triggered when a customer has entered information into the email address field (that is not recognised as a phone number) and then tabs, taps or clicks out to the next field. If the customer goes back at any point in the checkout journey to amend or change their email address then a further validation charge will be incurred. Multiple charges may be incurred for a single checkout depending on how many times a customer amends their email address.
